United Sports Youth League's held its first annual United Game between Brooklyn and Staten Island's all star teams at St John's University's Staten Island Campus on Sunday April 10th.
In the U2 game Brooklyn defeated Staten Island 28-18. Brooklyn also defeated Staten Island in the U1 game 43-35. Leroy from Brooklyn's U1 team was awarded with the United Game MVP for his 20 point 11 rebound performance.
Players and parents participated in United's gift auction throughout the event. Dozens of prizes were given away thanks to generous donations from St. John's University, the Brooklyn Nets, Moe's Southwest Grill, and more.
The event was a huge success in that it raised funds for facility renovations for St. John's University's basketball gym which will serve as the home of United's Staten Island basketball league and the site of the annual United Game in the future.
Thank you to all our sponsors and everyone who came out to support Unites Sports Youth League and its all stars. Congratulations to Team Brooklyn for winning their respective games and we hope to see everyone next year for a bigger even more successful United Game in 2017.
